The Law of Attraction Spectrum

I recently declared quite dramatically that I am no longer a law of attraction follower but that I now ascribe to the law of assumption. The law of attraction is a philosophy suggesting that positive thoughts bring positive results into a person's life, while negative thoughts bring negative outcomes. Law of attraction gurus like Abraham Hicks put a big emphasis on changing your vibration (state of being, mood or how you feel) to attract the things you want. The idea is that like attracts like and a high vibration state in theory will produce a high vibration life. Law of attraction-ers usually do a lot of meditation and positive aspects, where you notice the positive aspects of your situation. When I practiced LOA, I found it difficult to get in a high vibrational place while dealing with everyday stressors like work or running errands.

The law of assumption was coined by American philosopher Neville Goddard. Law of assumption basically states that what you assume is true materializes into your world as the truth. Law of assumption people do not typically believe that a high vibration effects your manifestation. Law of assumption-ers normally do a lot of repeating affirmations to manifest their desires, and think that the repetition imprints it on your subconscious mind.

Anyway, that being said, I was saying my affirmations on and off for a couple months when I first got introduced to the law of assumption. And in that time I really honed in on what my focus is and what I wanted my affirmations to say *queue vigorous ripping up of journal paper repeatedly* but really got into it about a couple weeks ago.

Sidenote:If you want to check out my affirmations go to my previous post titled 'my affirmations currently'

Honestly though, I had a real rockie couple of weeks saying my affirmations. Very up and down. One day I would feel fantastic and the next day I felt like I was doubting everything I affirmed for. Some days I felt like I needed to back off affirming because I had so much negative association with some of my affirmations that I felt I needed some breathing room. So that lead me to the conclusion that your vibration, at least for ME, does affect how quickly to receive your manifestation. To me, it's not vital, I mean, sure you could power right through with your affirmations but why when it could be so much easier with the right state being? Other random things I found: I noticed that if I take statements that I already kinda sorta believe that the law of assumption works quickly. I also started visualizing lately and that's works crazy good. I just think of a snippet of mental pictures, preferably no longer than it takes you to read a post on Facebook/Instagram. And then stuff manifests. Poof!

I said all that to say, I am not strictly law of attraction, nor strictly law of assumption, but some kind of next generation half human half robot hybrid that thinks rules outlined in both modalities work for her. I’m somewhere in the middle on the law of attraction law of assumption spectrum. Yes, I do think affirmations work wonders. But no I am not of the mind that your state of being doesn't matter when manifesting. Stay tuned to see where this manifestation journey takes me.
