book excerpt- Let me know if you like it!
Back Cover of Book:
Brittney Woods lives in another dimension. Not in a crazy mind bending way or an alien freakish way but a dimension just like ours but where they understand the laws of the Universe and have infinite peace and understanding among all creatures (I know, thats all, right?) . It is a place where the creatures celebrate their lineage and micro lineages in order to feel inclusion and kinship with all other creatures.
It is also infinitely boring to someone like Brittney who craves excitement and adventure. Brittney’s world does not have catastrophic events like earthquakes or political tyrants, but gradual changes that all the world sanctions. No one fears death, or pushed against the flow of nature. As such, in her senior year of college, before picking the path that will take her through this life and into her next life, Britney sets out to find the excitement she craves by looking into the dimension occupied by her planet space in the year 2018.

Brittney- Main character
Tarhyn- best friend (female)
Johnathan- best friend (male)
Brittney easily slipped into a meditative state as she’d so been trained to do after many years of formal training as a child. She had it down like clock work— her breathing slowed and became more rhythmic, her heart rate slowed, and her feet firming planted grounding to the earth below. She allowed her thoughts to come and go freely yet did not wander into the land of the unwanted. It was a delicate balancing act but she not only understood the mechanics, but knew the process deep down in her very bones.
Before she knew it, she felt her body floating in a sea of stars and darkness, just like her dream of getting the letter. Her vision blurred heavily, and then she had the feeling of re-grounding or landing and, in response, she flung open her eyes. She was in a blue chair in the spare room of her work and there in two identical chairs sat Johnathan and Tarhyn.
“What the fuck?!?” Brittney exclaimed
“Surprise!!” J and T chimed together
“What do you mean, surprise? Are you guys coming with me?…” Brittney hesitated before saying too much.
“Yay, us! We get to go through this tradition together my aligned soul sister bitches!!!” Tarhyn exclaimed
“Can you please explain this ‘tradition’ to me again? My parents just told me I would get the semester off from classes to work on ‘my very particular alignment woes”. Johnathan said curtly.
Apparently only Tarhyn was clear about what the hell was going on. They stared intently at Tarhyn for the millisecond it took for her to spill the beans. And she spilled em’ at about 2 trillion words per minute.
“ Okay, you want me to spill the beans then I will. My older sister and I are ten years apart and Janet told me she went through this same thing. They allow students to leave the community for a different community, sometimes outside of our dimension, world, or universe. Once outside, students explore their inner unrest that’s present before they fully graduate and become functioning members of society. Anything you wanna explore, whether it be polygamy or multiple psychoactive drugs, they let you before its time to sober up and start adulting.”
Brittney was leaning forward and sat back in her chair all way. “Okay, Tare… that’s a fucking lot to unpack there”
“Yay, I’m totally picking the gay party monster universe!” Johnathan cried, clapping and laughing
Brittney rolled her eyes, “Okay, so you're saying I can go wherever I want? Whatever time or dimension?!? And we have one semester to be gone? You guys, we are gonna have the most amazing time while we’re gone!!!”
Tarhyn and Johnathan turned to each other silently—they seemed to actually do that a lot. Most people did not know they were actually twins.
“Well, honey lumpkins, yes we will. Independently” Johnathan said
“Yeah B, this is meant for our personal growth and alignment, not as a bestie threesome vacation, although I personally think we should schedule it.” Tarhyn said, gently
Brittney stared off into space and thought about that. In her world, they emphasized almost never making anyone do anything they did not want to do. Without thinking about it, she knew that she did not HAVE to go if she didn’t want to. She’d never been anywhere in her whole life all alone…
“Okay Tarhyn, since you know so much, how the hell do we make this time machine fire up?”
Tarhyn lifted her small chubby hand and slowly slid it down her torso and then in between her chunky short thighs. Brittney and Johnathan looked on wide eyed and sort of uncomfortable until she propped up her bootie cheek and pulled out yet another letter.
“Ta dah. Reach underneath yourselves, and get your second letter.” Tarhyn beamed triumphantly
They both shrugged and did as she told them and started to read their letters. As soon as they all opened up the ancient parchment, the whole room began to glow blue and the walls turned to bright blue molten space water flowing down Infiniti style. On each wall was a different number. Brittney’s chair had a 3 on the seat, and there was a matching number 3 carved into the beautiful iridescent blue slab walls.
“Okay, I for one think that we should all enter into our portals at the exact same ttt…”
Before Tarhyn was done with her bossy little speech, Brittney and Johnathan had already got on and dove into their portals head first. As they dove through time and space, you could hear Brittney’s signature cackling laughter and an echo of Johnathan’s voice shouting “Travel Safe, Bitches!!”
Brittney was on her way to the third dimension and her whole body was aflame with expectation.
