The Truth About Letting Go

Image
I recently had an experience that shed some light on the whole let go/don't let go debate in the manifestation community. Me and my husband took off last Friday to go to the casino for his birthday weekend. It was spur of the moment, so he didn't even tell me he wanted to go until the day before. Since I already had the day off I said fine, let's go.  Normally when we go to a casino or Vegas or whatever, I hella hype myself up for the gambling portion of the trip. I say things like 'I'm the lucky winner of $X' 'I'm going to win the jackpot' and 'Every time I play, I win'. And while this method works to some degree (I see a small amount of wins with it, and don't lose all my money or anything-might break even), it never seems to yield the results I'm really looking for.  Well fast forward to this particular casino trip and my husband turns to me in the car as we drive up to the casino parking lot, and says, "Are you gonna win&quo

Affirmations + Angel Numbers- Progress Right Now

So the first thing that comes to mind is 111. Basically I've been seeing this number consistently since I started my manifestation journey using the Law of Assumption. On the microwave. On the clock. The number of likes someone got on a Facebook post. I see it on the amount of calories on juice at Costco. On my receipt for groceries--literally anywhere and EVERYwhere.  It's something silly that I'm proud to have manifested because I know I did it deliberately. Sometimes, when I microwave a snack, I DELIBERATELY put it to 1:11 just for funsies. Needless to say, 111 is really easy to notice on accident but also especially on purpose.  That's what I felt like I was missing with manifesting physical things or situations. The ability to notice representations of my desires on purpose. During the week, I am typically really busy with work and it doesn't occur to me to think about my desires for two reasons. The first reason is that my work day is so starkly separate from

Your Greatest Distraction from Manifestation

Have you ever complained that there's not enough time in the day to get everything you want to get done accomplished? Between work and chores and getting your obligatory 8 hours of rest in every night (in theory), there's not enough time to manifest your heart's desire? Well, I'm here to tell you that, for 90% of everyone you know, that not having enough time thing is totally bogus. Where is all the time going, you ask. What could possibly be sucking the life out of our schedule so drastically? Hint: It's not your work or school routine. Big shocker, it's technology.  Here's a great exercise to try out: go on your phone and go to Settings. Scroll down until you see 'screen time' or 'digital wellbeing' (for android users). It will show you a bar graph of your cell phone usage and what apps you use and how long you use them. I was quite frankly shocked at how many hours a day I use my phone. My average is still over 4 hours total to this day.

Mental Diet vs Affirming- Law of Assumption

When I first started manifesting with the Law of Assumption, I thought "Gee this is gonna be a piece of cake! All I have to do is affirm for my desire and I'm going to get everything I want and it's gonna be GREAT!" I don't know if a lot of people think that way in the beginning, but that was definitely my mindset coming into this. Then I started actually going to work affirming everyday, speaking life into my desires, repeating the sentences that represented what I wanted to see happen in my real life. At first I struggled with being consistent. I also struggled sticking to the same affirmations all the time which they tell you is really important to staying consistent.  Finding time to affirm isn't always easy when you work full time and then have to balance cleaning time, family time and rest time on the weekends. After a while, I got the hang of it though. If me and my family go to a restaurant on the weekend, on the way to and from the restaurant I would

The Law of Attraction Spectrum

I recently declared quite dramatically that I am no longer a law of attraction follower but that I now ascribe to the law of assumption.  The law of attraction is  a philosophy suggesting that positive thoughts bring positive results into a person's life, while negative thoughts bring negative outcomes . Law of attraction gurus like Abraham Hicks put a big emphasis on changing your vibration (state of being, mood or how you feel) to attract the things you want. The idea is that like attracts like and a high vibration state in theory will produce a high vibration life. Law of attraction-ers usually do a lot of meditation and positive aspects, where you notice the positive aspects of your situation. When I practiced LOA, I found it difficult to get in a high vibrational place while dealing with everyday stressors like work or running errands.  The law of assumption was coined by American philosopher Neville Goddard. Law of assumption basically states that what you assume is true mat

getting to work visualization

I dropped off my son, Isaiah in the parking lot of his school, where there are many cars clamoring to get in and out. I told him 'I love you' and to 'have a good day'. He's in a good mood because I took him to the corner store before we arrived. He waves goodbye. I smile to myself as I exit from the driveway immediately, because as usual there is no traffic when I pull out.  I can't wait to get to work and get started on my files, and start answering the phones. I love getting to work 1 hour early and getting a head start on letting applicants know they are at the top of the waiting list. I love talking to the girls in accounting and actually everyone in the office. My boss, while she normally only comes to the office a couple days a week, is super understanding. She is a powerful independent woman, as the only Director of the company, but she's also the mother to 4 children. As I drive, I belt out  my affirmations because it feels better for my spirit than
